The Gospels Have More Evidence Than Alexander the Great
In real estate, deals rest on documents. Without a paper trail, you don’t have security. The same is true with history. And when it comes to ancient documents, the Gospels outperform the biographies of Alexander the Great, Caesar, and most figures we trust without question.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
The New Testament is supported by over 5,000 Greek manuscripts and thousands more in Latin and other languages. Some date within decades of the originals. By contrast, the earliest manuscripts of Alexander the Great’s life were written 300+ years after his death — and we have fewer than 20 copies.
Early Creeds as Records
In addition to manuscripts, creeds like 1 Corinthians 15:3–8 circulated within 5 years of the crucifixion. Legends don’t grow that fast. This is the equivalent of notarized documents filed at closing — evidence written while witnesses were still alive.
A Data Integrity Argument
As investors, we review title history, comps, and contracts before closing. If the Gospels have stronger documentary support than the foundations of Greco-Roman history, then trusting Jesus isn’t irrational. It’s the most logical decision we can make.
Conclusion:
The Gospels aren’t fairy tales carried by oral tradition. They’re heavily attested, early, and credible — far beyond what we demand for other ancient history. Faith isn’t about closing on vibes. It’s about trusting the best-documented reality.
